Summer reading post "theme"

The theme of Mockingjay, written by Susan Collins is that even in the darkest of times, life moves forward. Destruction brings about rebirth in the end. A quote from the book that perfectly illustrates this is, “What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again.” (Collins 389).
Mockingjay is the third installment of the Hunger Games trilogy. The plot revolves around a resistance brought up by Katniss Everdeen's retaliations towards the government of Panem. Katniss's image is enough to cause an uprise of the people in an attempt to overthrow the capitol and the evil President Snow. An underground civilization who's sole purpose is to bring down the capitol helps them accomplish this goal. Katniss and her friends devise ways to bring more people to their cause as well as ways to crush the oppositions power throughout the entire book leading to the final battle.
